		+	A very short but very enjoyable Term 3 has come to an end. It was such a great term in Alexandra, with great numbers in the mixed age class. This was fantastic to see and also hear, as the singing level was so much louder and the dancing was very enthusiastic. It was also the pregnant ladies class I believe, with 3 of us shuffling our way around the room and I wish the other 2 ladies lots of luck with their future little ones!
		+	It was a great program with farm animals being very popular. I discovered a really useful felt animals and background to use during the class, which was fantaistc for visual recognition of the differetn animals we were either singing about or making silly noises with. Also using simple black and white pictures stu k onto paddle pop sticks of the 5 little ducks, cued the children's visuall and listening skills at the same time. Very easy to make at home too!
		+	The older chidlren, although the class was very small, made up for it with their noise, stomping skills and enthusaism. It was really lovely having some quality time with the girls and it gave them all a chance to be as creative and imaginative as they wanted. Although the theme was Dinosaurs, we did at times end up being stomping princess's instead with beautiful scarves over our heads!
		+	The scarves were a great resource as we used them for Dinosaur tails, princess head wear, and to demonstrate our listening skills by waving the scarf up high or down low with the music.

		+	We finished the Term with a lovely mixed age, mix themed and yummy treats class. Thanks to all of you who came along with such enthusiasm and raring to go with your singing voices and dancing feet. Although I am having a break, I will be back in 2011, so until then, dance, sing and play your instruments wherever you like and spread the joy of music!!

	We are very close to the end of Term 2 already, which seems a little crazy!! This term we have been having a great time going to the zoo with the mixed age group in Alexandra. The children have started moving around the room alot more and interacting with each other as they share instruments and sometimes even the occasional banana! It has been great to see and hear the children joining in the actions and at times, the singing of the songs, as both their fine motor skills and language, start to develop.
