MUSIC THERAPY: GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS.

What is music therapy?

Music therapy is a research-based allied health practice and profession, in which music is used to actively support people as they strive to improve their health, functioning and well- being.

Music therapy is about exploring different aspects of yourself through music and developing tools to take with you. You don't need to have any prior musical skills as this is a space to create and find connection.

Music Garden is an inclusive and neuro-affirming community, ready to support you on your journey to discovering how creative and amazing, you really are.

INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS.

Individual sessions are offered across the lifespan to support people reach goals, both personal and NDIS based. We work closely with each person and their family, to find out their favourite songs, how they respond to different styles of music, as well as their functional and wellbeing goals.

Music Therapy supports the development of social and communication skills, motor skills, emotional recognition and regulation, confidence and connection.

We use age appropriate music, instruments, movement and relaxation. Each session is unique, supportive, evidence-based and engaging. Individual sessions are offered Monday-Friday.

GROUPS

Music Garden offers Music Therapy in groups of 4. These can be for early childhood age groups during the day, after school groups for older children and a rock group for adults. All groups aim to create connections within the community and are for both NDIS and private paying families.

Early childhood groups are avaliable on Monday and Tuesday mornings.  After school groups are availaible on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays and the Adult Rock Group is ready to go on Thursday mornings.

Each session is engaging, fun and interactive with plenty of instrumental exploration, social and communication practice and movement.
